Houdin’s expressive yet classically poised bust of Moliere, the 17th-century French playwright, originally in marble, has been finely cast and worked by the the Parisian bronze foundry Barbedienne. The cast probably dates from the late 19th century. It’s signed “Houdin,” and bears the Barbedienne mark as well.
